Teacher training

In addition to teaching, I design and deliver teacher training courses and workshops. I’ve worked with many universities and other clients including English Language Teachers Associations, the British Council, the Cultura Inglesa, Cambridge ESOL, Oxford University Press and Pearson.

My specialist areas are ESP, business English, technical English, pragmatics and sociolinguistics, and English as a lingua franca. I’ve traveled a lot and delivered courses and workshops in Germany, France, Monaco, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, The Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, Hungary, Russia, Poland, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Brunei, Singapore, Taiwan, the UK, and the US.

I have also trained business English teachers for accredited programs such as the LCCI’s Certificate and Diploma in Teaching English for Business and the ESP component of the New School’s MA TESOL.

So please get in touch if you would like me to design and/or run a teacher training course for you. I’m based in Philadelphia (about a hundred miles south of New York) and my rates are competitive.

Talks and Presentations

I’ve been an invited and key note speaker on the topics of business and technical English, English as a Lingua Franca and ‘merican English at many influential conferences including TESOL, IATEFL, English UK, and BESIG. I’ve also delivered many sales presentations for ELT publishers.

I am also an experienced webinar presenter and I’ve delivered online presentations in Adobe Connect, Blackboard Collaborate, Webex and Saba.

I relish the opportunity to attend conferences and share ideas with fellow professionals, so do get in touch if you’d like me to speak at an event you’re organizing. I can adapt to suit different audiences, but to give you some examples of what’s possible, here are some examples of talks I’ve recently given. Again, my rates are competitive.
